Our History
Founded in 2001, Peachtree Academy began as a school focused on early childhood development and quickly evolved into one of East Atlanta’s premier private school options. Our commitment to academic excellence, small class sizes, and personal attention has set us apart from the beginning.
Growth Milestones:
2001 – Peachtree Academy opens as an early childhood development school.
2002–2010 – One grade level added each year, expanding the academic program.
2011 – Due to increased demand, 10th and 11th grades are added.
2012–2013 – Peachtree Academy becomes a full PreK–12 college preparatory institution.
Today – Offers a complete educational experience including academics, athletics, and fine arts from Preschool through 12th grade.

JaNice VanNess
Founder & Head of School
JaNice VanNess established Peachtree Academy in 2001 to provide a nurturing, Christian education rooted in academic excellence. Her leadership inspires growth, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
Jeanne Smith
Director of Operations
Jeanne Smith leads school operations with a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and creating an environment where students and staff can succeed.
Kim Boyd
Director of Finance
Kim Boyd oversees the financial operations of Peachtree Academy, ensuring responsible stewardship and supporting the school’s long-term mission and growth.
Ken Van Ness
Assistant Athletic Director
Ken Van Ness leads Peachtree Academy’s athletic program, fostering excellence, teamwork, character, and leadership both on and off the field.
Jim Eidson
Principal, Upper School
Educational Specialist, Lincoln Memorial University — focuses on academic programs, student development, and high school leadership.
